Who are we and why have we called this dog finder website to life? To be frank, there is a company behind hundello for legal and tax purposes. This company is called evoRank and is represented by Dennis Lenz. But hundello is so much more than your average online dog finder website. It is a passion project for which we’ve pulled out all the stops to make it happen. The people who created it love dogs and want to do their part to better inform their target audience about the numerous purebreds, hybrid dogs and mixed breeds. Dennis Lenz himself can tell you best how much this project really means to us:
Dear fellow dog lover,
My name is Dennis Lenz and I am thrilled to know you are interested in why this project has such a special place in my heart. I grew up with dogs and these wonderful animals have had a positive impact on me to this very day. I consider a dog to be a part of the family and a fierce and true friend. Over the years you make so many beautiful memories together, can learn a lot from each other – and maybe even become a better person for it. From our point of view, the companionship lasts a few years; from the dog's point of view, it is a lifetime. I therefore strongly believe that it is the duty of every dog owner to do right by their pet.
However, every dog has different breed-specific needs. While some dogs need a lot of exercise and others love to go swimming, there are those that want mental stimulation. With such a large variety of different dogs in the world, it is not so easy to find exactly the dog whose natural behavioral responses most closely fit your personality and match your overall lifestyle.
I have had first-hand experience in the difficulty of choosing the right dog and have also heard numerous stories of friends and family. The idea for a dog finder website came to me a few years ago. I wanted a site that had an exhaustive list of all the dog breeds in the world – purebreds, hybrid dogs and mixed breeds alike – and I wanted the ability to easily compare and filter the profiles.
By mid-2021, I had finally found the time to really start tossing ideas around, taking long afternoon and evening walks with my partner to hash out the details and create a concept. The basic idea was to help people looking to get a dog choose the right one. There are certainly numerous dog sites online that provide much more in-depth information about individual dog breeds. What I am concerned with, however, is the step that comes first: Narrowing down the selection of possible dogs to ultimately end up with probably the most wonderful dog in the world – the one you call your own.
We would also like to make our position on a certain issue very clear right from the start so there’s no room for misunderstanding: We get why so many people prefer a puppy. Who can resist those cute little faces? Unfortunately, such a purchase often means supporting shady puppy mills that are only in it for the money! Animal welfare is not part of these criminals’ vocabulary!
The animal shelters are filled with wonderful dogs that deserve a nice and loving home. A dog's life is not a very long one and no dog should have to spend months let alone years in a shelter! An alternative to animal shelters are animal welfare organizations (see list) that rescue foreign street dogs or bring dogs from hopelessly overcrowded shelters to Germany to place them in loving and responsible homes, often even juveniles. We appreciate the work of these organizations so much that we donate a part of our proceeds to provide them some financial support.
We hope that you will find the greatest dog in the world and that you will spend many wonderful years together!
